Honda along with its motorsport partner MUGEN has unveiled the Honda NSX MUGEN RR Concept at the 2009 Tokyo Auto Salon.
Honda developed the NSX MUGEN RR after it announced the cancellation of its 2010 NSX project due to cost cutting.
The Honda NSX MUGEN RR measures at 4,520 mm long, 1,950 mm wide and 1,320 mm tall. At the exterior, the NSX RR features extensive aerodynamic modifications such as new hood with air vents, new side sills, a new front lip spoiler, a new rear spoiler, a roof scoop and a rear diffuser. The brake system has also been upgraded.
There are no official details of the Honda NSX MUGEN RR Concept yet but according to Autoblog, its powertrain, the 3.0-liter V6 engine has been swapped with a supercharged 2.4-liter V6 engine mated to a revised six-speed manual gearbox to produce between 350 hp and 380 hp.
The details above are contradicting with what WorldCarFans reported where the Honda NSX MUGEN RR is powered by a 5.0-liter V10 engine could produce more than 500 hp (378 kW) and will be faster than the Nissan GT-R.
